Unpublishing a Book

Unpublishing permanently removes a book from distribution and sale. This action cannot be undone. If you want the book to be available again, you must create a new book entry with a new ISBN.

Unpublishing does not refund the upload fee. If the title is still eligible for an upload-fee refund, use the separate refund option on the Books page instead.

How to Unpublish

• 1. Go to the Books page
• 2. Find the book you want to unpublish
• 3. Click the three-dot menu icon on the book card
• 4. Select "Unpublish"
• 5. Confirm by clicking "Yes, unpublish"

What Happens When You Unpublish

• The book is removed from all distribution channels
• It may take up to 30 business days for listings to be fully removed
• Any pending sales at the time of unpublishing will still be fulfilled
• The book card on the Books page will appear grayed out with an "Unpublished" badge
• The book can no longer be edited or ordered

When Should I Unpublish?

Common reasons to unpublish a book:

• You need to change locked metadata (such as the title or ISBN) and want to create a corrected version
• You want to permanently discontinue the book
• You are replacing the book with a new edition under a new ISBN

Can I Republish?

No. Unpublishing is permanent. If you want the same book available for sale again, you will need to create a new book entry with a new ISBN and go through the full setup process again (uploading files, review, digital preview approval, etc.).
