Print Turnaround & Deadlines
Plan on 10 to 14 business days for printing, plus shipping on top of that. Every book is printed to order, so how fast you get them depends on where your job lands in the print queue.
How Long Printing Takes
10 to 14 business days is the estimate we work to, and it's what the delivery window at checkout is built from. Business days means weekends don't count, so two calendar weeks is a fair expectation.
Faster Shipping Won't Print Your Books Faster
The speed you choose at checkout only covers transit once your boxes have a label on them. Paying for a faster service doesn't move your book up the print queue.
Ordering for an Event
A few things that help:
- Give us as much notice as you can on runs of several hundred copies, so we can order paper ahead of time
- Leave time to order a proof first if this is a new book
There's no rush fee, and no way to jump the queue. Most of the jobs ahead of you have their own event dates, so order early rather than counting on the best case.
Working Backward From Your Date
A rough plan for a new book with an event date:
- Upload your files and let us review them, which usually takes a couple of business days
- Approve your digital preview
- Order a proof and allow a week or so to receive and check it
- Place the real order at least three to four weeks before the event
