Imprints

An imprint is a trade name under which a publisher releases books. You can create multiple imprints under your publisher account to organize your catalog or publish under different brand names.

Default Imprint

When you create your publisher account, a default imprint is automatically created using your publisher's legal name. This default imprint cannot be deleted. It will always appear in your imprint list.

Adding an Imprint

To add a new imprint:

• Navigate to your Publisher Settings page.
• Scroll down to the "Publishing Imprints" section.
• Type the name of the new imprint in the "New Imprint" text field.
• Click the add icon or press Enter to add it.
• Click "Save changes" to save your updated imprint list.

Removing an Imprint

To remove an imprint, click the "X" on its chip in the Publishing Imprints section, then save your changes. Note that the default imprint (your publisher's legal name) does not have a close button and cannot be removed.

Setting the Imprint for a Book

When creating a new book, you will see an "Imprint" dropdown in the book details form. Select the imprint you want to publish the book under from the list. The dropdown shows all imprints you have added to your publisher account.

Once a book has been created, the imprint field is locked and cannot be changed. If you need to change the imprint, you will need to create a new book under the correct imprint.
