What the three figures mean
Selling direct
Order author copies at print cost and keep everything above it at events, signings, and your own site. There is no per-copy fee on a direct sale.
Selling in our online bookstore
We list the book, take the order, print it, and ship it. You keep your retail price minus the print cost and a flat $2.00 per sale.
Selling to bookstores
Independent bookstores order at the wholesale discount you set, between 30% and 55%. You earn the discounted price minus the print cost and $1.25 handling per copy.
Print cost depends on the book, which is the whole reason this exists: page count, trim size, paper, and whether the interior is black and white or full color all move it. Setup is a one-time $25 per title, and royalties are paid on the 1st of each month for sales two months earlier. More detail is in the FAQ .
